Investigation Reason: Mounckton connected with Powell - Hassard Powell and Powell family connected with John & Daniel Heaphy through court records.
Nicholas Mouckton married Susanne Dann in 1631, Cork & Ross who is the origin line for the Mounckton family in Limerick. Nicholas Monckton, who arrived in Ireland, probably with Welsh or English origins, and served as a clerk to the Limerick market in 1618. By the early 18th century, they established themselves as landed gentry in the Ballingarry and Knockaney areas of Limerick. Much of the information below is available from the Will of Elizabeth Mounckton of 1685 and the court case records for the estate of Hassard Powell, over the mismanagement of it by his uncles. There were the following siblings:
1 Constance Mounckton, referenced in her brother Nicholas's Will of 1674.
2 Martha Mounckton, referenced in her brother Nicholas's Will of 1674.
3 Anne Mounckton, referenced in her brother Nicholas's Will of 1674.
4 Nicholas Mounckton (c1620 - 1674) of Knockaney, Limerick. Nicholas married Elizabeth (unknown). Following the death of Nicholas in 1674, his wife, Elizabeth married Sir George Ingoldsby (Knight), Cashel & Emly, when she became known as Dame Elizabeth Ingoldsby. Children of Nicholas and Elizabeth Mounckton:

iii Elizabeth Mounckton (d.1685). Elizabeth married Hassard Powell, son of Giles Powell. The Powell family were granted large estate and parcels of land within Limerick. Children:
Hassard Powell
Mary Powell, who married Hugh Brady, who is probably a brother to John Brady, who married Elizabeth Irby in 1696 - Elizabeth Irby, was the daughter of Elizabeth Massey (c1650 - 1716, dau. of Hugh Massey I of Druntrileauge, Limerick) and Rev. Anthony Irby. Before marrying Rev. Irby, Elizabeth Massey was married to Robert Powell (1643 - 1684), brother of Hassard Powell, who married Elizabeth Mounckton.
Mable Powell, who married George Robinson.
iv Nicholas Mounckton, b.1653. Eldest son, Nicholas was a Jacobite Officer and there are also references for him in the Trinity College registers. Nicholas was High Sheriff of Co. Limerick in 1675. Nicholas was appointed the guardian of his nephews, the children of his sister Elizabeth, who died in 1685, weeks following her husband, Hassard Powell's death. Giles Powell, joined in guardianship to protect his grandson's estate. Following the death of Giles, Hassard Powell, the grandson, discovered that his uncle Nicholas was mismanaging his estate. On discovering the issue, Hassard suspended Nicholas and put David Wilson (father of Ralph Wilson), from his mother's side as guardian. His mother's sister, Constance Mounckton was married to David Wilson, Alderman, and brother to Ralph Wilson (friendly with King James's officers) of Caherclonlish, Limerick (Ref: Crossle Genealogical Abstracts). However, David Wilson, also mismanaged, shifting the profits of the Powell estate to his own private use, in addition to leasing Hassard's profits through query abatement to different tenants, at a lower price, such as John Walsh and West Mitchelstown to John Williams, who exchanged the lease with John Heaphy (Jacobite Officer) [Limerck & Kerry Branch], reference court cases, 1696 - 1702. David Wilson had assigned Robert Blennerhassett in the Hassard Powell case. Robert Blennerhassett was the uncle of Rachel Blennerhassett, who married Daniel Heaphy, son of John in 1715, St. John's COI, Limerick.
Nicholas married Jane Weeks. There is a court reference for Jane in 1687, as the husband of Nicholas Mounckton, however, there was also a cousin to this Nicholas, also named Nicholas, son of Thomas Mounckton.

Mother - Constance Wilson. Wife - Lucy Perry. Cousins - Ambrose Wilson, Ralph Wilson (of Caherclonclish), William Wilson. Cousin - Rev. Jonathon Wilson. Uncle - John Mounckton.
Ralph Wilson married Lucy Perry. Apparently earlier research on the Wilson family have stated, there is no connection with this Wilson family and Richard Wilson of Ballinacurra Hart, Limerick and associated with estates such as Springfield, Mount Ivers and Belvoir in County Clare. I have not investigated the Wilson family further, despite, Harriet Vokes, wife of Eyre Heaphy (Clarina Line), being the granddaughter of Elizabeth Wilson, who married Andrew Vokes in 1785.
