The following is a branch under research, that is attempting to piece together a Heaphy branch of Fermoy, that possibly originated from Lismore, Waterford. There are also associations with Heaphy of Mallow, Watergrasshill, Castlelyons, Castletownroche, Doneraile, and Kilworth, Cork. Marriages are a mix RC and COI.
Beginning with the earliest records, the following are possible brothers/cousins:
William Heaphy (1790 - 1872). William was a Full Post Master at Watergrasshill, Cork, south of Fermoy. William was married and had the following known children:
i William Heaphy (1813 - 1885), Lodge Keeper at Ballyhooly, west of Fermoy. William was married to Mary (unknown) (1814 - 1875). Mary was a Gate Keeper, and William was present at her death, at Ballyhooly, Cork.
James Heaphy, born circa 1780, he married to Eline Prendergast, with the following known children:
i Elina Heaphy, baptised 27 July 1803, Castlelyons, Cork. Died 1865, Fermoy.
ii Catherine Heaphy, baptised 23 June 1806, Castlelyons, Cork. Sponsors: Michael Sweeny and Bridget Daly.
James Heaphy (1784 - 1874), Gardener at Castletownroche, located between Fermoy and Mallow, Cork. James was married to Hannah (unknown) (1811 - 1891). She is referenced on her death as the widow of James Heaphy, Castletownroche.
David Heaphy, born circa 1785. He married Elene Kennery and had the following know children:
i Marian Heaphy, baptised 25 Oct 1803, Castlelyons, Cork.
ii Patrick Heaphy, baptised 18 Aug 1811, Castlelyons Cork. Sponsors: Mrs. Kirby & Mary Heaphy.

i Patrick Heaphy, mason, born 1814. Patrick was married three times. His first wife was Ellen Finton and they had the following known children:

Patrick married secondly to Julia (Judith) Donoghue, 17 Feb 1870, with no children. Patrick married thirdly to married Bridget Galvin, 11 Aug 1870. Patrick is aged 56 in 1870, when he married. Children of Patrick and Bridget:

ii Bartholomew Heaphy, born 1803. Bartholomew married on the 02 Mar 1835, Fermoy, to Anne Callaghan. Witnesses: Patrick Heaphy & James Magner. There are Petty Court Records for Bartholomew up to 1861, that could relate to him or to his nephew, born 1845. There are also Valuation Office Books and Griffth Valuation records for 1850 and 1851 for Castlewidenham, Castletownroche, Cork.
iii Maurice Heaphy, born circa 1815, possibly another son. Maurice married Ellen Morrisson and had the following known children:

Another generation is set around the following three brothers/cousins and as can be seen the name Robert is very popular:
Robert Heaphy born circa 1809, baker, Fermoy. Robert was married to Catherine (unknown). Catherine was registered in Slater, National Commercial Directory of 1846, as a straw bonnet maker of Barrick Hill, Fermoy. Robert and Catherine had the following children:
i Stephen Heaphy, baptised 03 Jan 1830, Kingstreet, Fermoy. Sponsors: David Downing & Eliza Ryan.
ii Hannah Heaphy (1832 - 1871) Dressmaker, Fermoy.
iii Robert Heaphy (1833 - 1899) Robert was a baker at Barrick Hill, Fermoy and does not appear to have married.
iv Michael Heaphy baptised 25 Jan 1835, New Market, Fermoy. Sponsors: Michael Ryan & Johanna (?). Michael died as an infant in 1835.
v Michael Heaphy born 1836. Michael, a baker, lived at Mallow and married Mary Sweeney and later moved to Denmark Street, Limerick, sometime before the birth of his son, John, born in 1870. Michael and Mary had the following known children:
Robert Heaphy baptised 28 Aug 1859, Mallow, died young.
Patrick Heaphy, born 1861, became a baker, of Denmark Street, and died on the 05 May 1886. Not married. (Write up on the 21 October 1879, Bassett's Chronicle, Limerick from the Baker's Guild on an attack.)
Catherine Heaphy, baptised 13 Mar 1863, New Street, Mallow. Sponsors: Michael Duggan and Ellen O'Callaghan. Catherine (of Denmark Street, Limerick) married Patrick Healy on 30 Nov 1886, St. Michael's, RC.
Michael Heaphy, baptised 29 Apr 1865, New Street, Mallow. Sponsors: John Supple & Mary (?). Michael is referenced in his brother John's Attestation Papers, dated 1889. Older than John and a member of the Duke of Cornwall's Regiment.
Robert Heaphy, baptised 06 September 1867, Mallow. referenced in his brother, John's Attestation Papers, dated 1889. Older than John and a member of the Connaught Rangers. Attestation Papers, dated 01.10.1884. Robert served (Service No: 1171) in the Army Service Corps in Ireland in India from the 25.02.1886 to 02.06.1891.
John Heaphy, born 1870, aged 19 in his Attestation Papers (Short Service), dated 04.11.1889 of the Royal Irish Corps (Service No: 3380). He served in Ireland, with campaigns, Frontier of India (1897-98) and South Africa (1899 - 1903). Medals: India Medal of 1895 with clasps, Punjab; Frontier 1897-98 Samana 1897.
vi Thomas Heaphy (1836 - 1876?). Thomas a tailor of Barrick Hill, Fermoy. Thomas married Mary Walsh on the 11 Sep 1859, Fermoy, RC. Thomas and Mary had the following children:
Annie Heaphy, baptised 29 Jul 1860 (Mother - Walsh). Sponsors: William Heaphy & Hannah Dunne. Annie married Oliver Ballson on the 24 July 1879, Registrars Office Fermoy. Witnesses: Robert Leeworthy (Private 28th Regiment) & Isabella Elizabeth Hazelwood. Oliver was a Driver H Battery, 2nd Brigade Royal Artillery.
Mary Heaphy, baptised 15 Feb 1863 (Mother - Walsh). Sponsors: John Heaphy & Susan Lynch. Mary married George Crawford on the 30 Dec 1882, Fermoy, COI, with witnesses: Kate Heaphy and William John Smith. George was the son of Alexander Crawford. George was a Lance Corporal with the British Army. Mary and George had the following children:

Robert Heaphy (08.05.1859 - 1920). Robert Heaphy was a private (Service No. 6664) in the North Cork Rifle Regiment and served with the Army Service Corps, British Army, with Attestation date of 17 May 1879, aged 20. Service No: 2042.
Robert was a baker/merchant in Cappoquin, Waterford and later Clonakilty, Cork. Robert married Elizabeth Flynn O'Connell on the 13 May 1886, Cappoquin, Lismore, Waterford. Elizabeth is the daughter of Charles O'Connell. Elizabeth had died before 1911. Robert and Elizabeth had the following children:
Martha Heaphy, baptised 15 Oct 1888, Lismore, Waterford. No info after 1911.
Robert James Heaphy (1891 - 1975), born Waterford. Robert, an engineer, married Bridget Keenan (Hotel Manageress) on the 10 Feb 1918, at the RC Church of Holy Trinity, Cork, with witnesses: John Heaphy and Mary Theresa Keenan. Bridget was the daughter of James Keenan, Hotel Proprietor. Robert and Bridget move to the US, after 1924, and are recorded in the US Census Newark, Essex, New Jersey for 1930. Children recorded as follows:

John Heaphy, born 1894, Cork. John married Kathleen Morrisson, on the 03 April 1923, St. Peter & Pauls, RC, Church, Cork, with witnesses: Arthur Heaphy and Mary Murphy. Kathleen is the daughter of Edmund Morrisson.
