What is very interesting with the Green family, is that there is a connection with two Heaphy members that are under 2 branches of study; Margaret Heaphy (Branch 2) and Daniel Heaphy (Branch 3).
Marriages:
Daniel Heaphy & Rachel Blennerhassett in 1715 - Rachel's aunt marries Captain Abraham Green about 1694.
Margaret Heaphy & Rev. Simon Holland in 1779 - Margaret's cousin, Tobias Horan, marries Margaret Meredith, daughter of Frances Green, and granddaughter of George Green of Abbey in 1772.
The research on the Green family is in an attempt to discover who the Frances Green is that married John Heaphy, in 1799, Limerick.
The Green family have a long history in Limerick, and the family have had a powerful influence on the region. In Limerick, the family is associated with Old Abbey (Captain Godfrey Green), Shanagolden, Ballymacreese (Captain Abraham Green), near Cahirconclish and Graige (Captain Thomas Green), Patrickswell, near Clarina. This line will be developed further in time.
BALLYMACREECE, LIMERICK (Barony of Clonwilliam)
Captain Abraham Green (d.1724) purchased the forfeited lands of James II, setting up his seat at Ballymacreece. He married Annabella Blennerhassett about 1694. Annabella is a brother to Robert Blennerhassett, who is the father of Rachel Blennerhassett, who married Daniel Heaphy in 1715.
Abraham had a brother, Francis Green and sister, who married Mr. Winslow and a sister, who married Mr. Morton.
Abraham and Annabella had no children, so the inheritance went to his nephew Henry Green, (1684 - 1745) son of Rev. William Greene (b. Abt 1655, son of Marmaduke Green) and Elizabeth Newburgh, who married in 1682. Elizabeth Newburgh, is the sister of Col. Brockhill, Dorothy & Rebecca Newburgh. William and Elizabeth had the following known children:
Henry Green (1684 - 1745) was born in Fermanagh and was high sheriff there in 1721. Henry moved to Limerick to take up ownership of the lands at Ballymacreece, which he inherits from his uncle, Captain Abraham Green. Merchant, Limerick. He married in 1714 to Letitia Pockrich/Pockeridge, who was a cousin of Henry, daughter of Richard "Porrets" Pockrich and Dorothy Newburgh. Henry and Letitia had three known children:
i Abraham Green, born about 1715, the eldest son of Henry. He married Honora Piers and had the following children:
Henry Green, born about 1742. Died 1765, aged 20.
Letitia Green, born about 1743, she married John Armstrong, of Farney Castle, in 1770.
Elizabeth Green, born about 1745, she married James Barry, of Cork, in 1765. Elizabeth and James are the parents of Major Henry Green Barry (1770 - 1838).
Both Abraham and Honora Green must have died young, as on the death of Henry in 1765, he is referred to as a minor and William Ryves is the guardian of Elizabeth and Letitita, minors, the children. Another reference for Henry Green Jnr Esq., administration granted to Elizabeth Green, the eldest sister, next of kin, Feb 1765.
ii William Green, born about 1718. Married Catherine Massy, 03 Feb 1746, COI, Rathkeale. Registered as a Freeholder, in 1761, Ballymaceece, Limerick. From the will details following, it appears the couple did not have any living children. Will dated 1775 with details:
William of Ballymacreece, father, Henry, wife, Catherine. Letitia Green, wife of John Armstrong. Nephew Henry Hamilton. Uncle Richard Pockrich/Pockeridge
iii Elizabeth Green, who married Mr. Hamilton, and had a son,
Henry Hamilton.
iv John Green of Brickfield (Newpark, Effin), Limerick, is possibly, but not proven, another son of Abraham and Honora Green. John had the following children:
Francis Green, born 1732 and is mentioned in a deed, along with is brother, Samuel and father in 1749, with Arthur Blennerhassett, commissioner.
Samuel Green [No Information]
Brockhill Green, born 1694, Col Fermanagh. Brochill He marries Sarah Montgomery, daughter of Hugh Mongomery. The couple married late, so unknown if they had any children. Mary Green, (1685 - 1772), who marries the Rev. James Cottingham.
Jane Green, who marries Christopher Irvine, of Fermanagh.

George married secondly to Margaret Crosbie/Crosbye (Will dated: 1759) daughter of David Crosbie.
